Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born South London, England into a family of mixed blood. She has a mother who is English while her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised in a council estate in the south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. In the years since Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Following that success she was cast as Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as appearing in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside in the role of Ollie. She also landed the part as Bambi in The ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in episodes two and three. Madekwe also starred as the main character on How to lose friends & betray people, which was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in 2008. She was also on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe officially made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes at The CW, and was then ended. The actress was selected in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After a period of two years as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. Between 2014 and the year 2016, she appeared on Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by the large family. Her parents were Patty and Roy Leggat. Four of her older brothers were also present including twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks because her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball and basketball in winter and summer. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. In the age of two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. Until she graduated from High School, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among a few.
